Henrico Education Foundation Great Expectations Grant Program
Twenty-four grant projects were approved during two grant cycles of 2010-11 including:
- A school wide elementary science lab for hands on learning (cycle 1)
- A “composer in residence” high school program to create an original choral composition (cycle 1)
- Training and implementation of The Morning Meeting at several elementary schools (cycle 1)
- Innovative high school biology/recycling project (cycle 1)
- Replication of leveled book rooms at 5 elementary schools (cycle 1)
- Expansion of technology projects with iPods, iPads, Kindles and Nooks to be used with ESL, Exceptional Education, and remedial students K-12 (cycle 1)
- An elementary watershed science project using the Chickahominy River (cycle 2)
- Creation of an outdoor classroom and community garden (cycle 2)
- Support of an innovative physics program using rocketry (cycle 2)
- Development of a collaborative science lab (cycle 2)
