From the Executive Director of the Henrico Education Foundation
As Executive Director of the Henrico Education Foundation, it is my pleasure to work hand-in-hand with the many people who are dedicated to growing educational opportunities throughout Henrico County Public Schools.
This includes educators and businesses whose generosity provides the additional financial support that strengthens the roots of educational innovation throughout the school system.
No matter how hard the school board and the superintendent work to stretch the available dollars – and believe me, they never stop working at this – public financing can only go so far.
That is why the growth that HEF has experienced is so vital. In 2008-2009, we generated over $326,000 in revenue – an increase of 60% over the previous fiscal year.
This additional funding has enabled to give more grants and support several additional programs. We’ve also been able to bring on a full-time Program Director -- to help us find even more ways to support our educators and students at a time when Virginia is cutting back on education spending.
With your help, 2009-2010 can be the year when the Henrico Education Foundation grows even more. I look forward to working with you.
