Student Scholarships
The Foundation is strongly committed to assist young adults as they continue their education beyond the high school level. By awarding over 16 scholarships throughout the year, opportunities become available to graduates as they pursue their career goals. Among these are scholarships established through the Distinguished Alumni event. This event highlighted the accomplishments of prominent Henrico graduates who have distinguished themselves in their chosen field of endeavor, and a scholarship was created in their honor.
We are excited to announce these new scholarships for 2011-2012:
- Investing in Excellence—for a current or former ESL student
- Berry Memorial—for student pursuing criminal justice, college ROTC, nursing, forensic science, fire science, or emergency service; in memory of Henrico County police officer TJ Berry (for more info click here) [Linda—please create a link to a brochure on the Berry scholarship—will send in separate email]
- Learning for Life—for graduates with a commitment to literacy and the promotion of libraries; sponsored by HCPS librarians
